Near the Tucson Convention Center downtown, there are plenty of historic buildings to take a gander at while strolling through the neighborhoods. At the corner of Cushing Street and Meyer Avenue, The Coronet is waiting to cure your appetite, around the corner, whiffs of Mexican cuisine are flowing out of the family-run El Minuto Cafe, and now there is a new neighbor just a little farther down the road.

After a successful soft opening over the weekend, EXO Roast Co. is planning to officially open its second location at 196 W. Simpson St. on Wednesday, February 23.

EXO Roast’s original location is nestled on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street, near Miller’s Surplus and Tap & Bottle, at 403 N. Sixth Ave.

The new spot has much of the same — delicious roasts, friendly staff, a sense of local, and baked bites that make you feel warm inside — but a good amount of new is apparent, too.

The location on Simpson Street is actually inside a historic 1885 adobe home, which has been converted into EXO Roast’s new office, comes equipped with a kitchen that serves as the supplier of baked goods for both locations, and there’s even a patio that offers comfort when the weather is just right.

Something different about the new spot is that there’s no public Wi-Fi throughout the space — perfect for those looking to disconnect and then reconnect with others through in-person conversations.

EXO Roast Co. shared the following on Instagram:

Hours of operation are 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily at both locations (beginning Wednesday, February 23 at the new location on Simpson Street).
