With everything happening the weekend of April 4th – 6th, if you had been considering a liver cleanse, you might want to wait until after. The Viva La Local Foods Festival is April 6th, Kon Tiki’s 50th Anniversary Celebration is on the 5th, and now Hotel Congress announced that on April 4th they will host what sounds like an impressive St. George Spirits cocktail inspired dinner.

For $75 you’ll get:

AMUSE BOUCHE: Seared big eye tuna, smoked paddlefish caviar, blood sorrel, mango vinaigrette
To be announced… a punch made by Young’s Market Mixologist, Jason Asher

FIRST COURSE: Bitter arugula, aged goat cheese, lemon oil, macerated raspberry, rice wine vinegar, pink peppercorns
Paired with St. George Terroir Gin, St. George Raspberry Liqueur, Lemon, Mint, Egg White

SECOND COURSE: Freshly made tagliatelle, duck thigh, smoked chestnuts, pecorino romano, soft herbs, sauce chasseur
Paired with St. George Dry Rye Gin, St. George Pear Liqueur, Angostura Bitters

THIRD COURSE: Simply roasted loin of pork, mustard greens, sous vide carrot, juniper scented pan sauce, twice baked purple potato
Paired with St. George Single Malt Whiskey, house-made orange syrup, basil and lemon.

FOURTH COURSE: Espresso semifreddo, cat’s tongue cookie
Paired with St. George Breaking and Entering Whiskey, house-made Falernum, cream, Fee’s Aztec Chocolate Bitters.

The dinner will take place in the Copper Room and starts at 7pm. As an added bonus, you can purchase a room package that includes the room and the dinner for two, a ‘recovery kit’, and two drink tickets for the morning after. Although, I can’t imagine what’s in the recovery kit if it’s separate from the morning after drink tickets.
