On Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 5 to 8pm, the YWCA Tucson will host food and fashion fundraiser, “POP: Purses On Purpose!”.

In support of the Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity, “POP!” will feature women restaurateurs, Renee Kreager from Renee’s Organic Oven, Maria Mazon from Boca Tacos Y Tequila, a group of well-known female Tucson bartenders including Allie Baron and Elizabeth Menke from La Cocina, Tiffany McLamarrah from Flycatcher and Luoyi Hsieh from Miss Saigon.

Liane Hernandez, YWCA Director of Community Life and Executive Chef, said, “POP! is a real celebration of women in Tucson – in food, business, fashion, music and art. Plus we are raising funds to help women in need. This is good fun for a good cause.”

The event also includes a fashion show courtesy of Tucson-based Buffalo Exchange at 6pm and a silent auction including goodie-filled designer handbags donated by local upscale boutiques, resorts and restaurants.

Tucson Foodie wasn’t able to obtain a full menu, but drink ingredients include hibiscus, peach bitters, pomegranate, fresh citrus and a range of spirits. Each bartender will provide a specialty cocktail.

The YWCA’s own “The Café @ the YW” will also provide food for the event to showcase the organizations new culinary and catering program.

Tickets are $65 per person in advance, $80 at the door.
