Local butcher shop and sandwich joint, The Sausage Shop Meat Market & Deli was broken into early Saturday morning, January 24. This is the third time the shop has been broken into.

The thieves broke in through the back door and made off with thousands of dollars in merchandise and equipment including bacon slabs, cold cuts, a deli slicer, a laptop, pork loins, beef from the cooler, sausage, and potato chips. They also broke the cash register, taking the remaining change.

Although the shop will remain closed for Saturday, The Sausage Shop’s Barbie Koecheler said, “We will be back open on Monday doing the best we can. The shop always recovers from a break in.”

Anyone with information is advised to contact the Tucson Police Department.
