"Thanks, Tucson, for everything."

The local beer scene is losing a beloved brewery.

1702, also known as The Address Brewing, is permanently closing up the taps and shutting off the pizza ovens at 1702 E. Speedway Blvd. on Friday, May 27.

The news came about on Facebook when the brewery shared the following:

“It is with a broken heart that I have to inform everyone that 1702 will be closing on May 27th. I do not have the words to express how much you all have meant to us over the last 15 years. So many friendships were formed and memories were made within these walls. You have made us so very happy and I truly hope we gave some of that happiness back to you dear friends. Thanks, Tucson, for everything. We love you all so much.”

With that being said, there is still time to stop on by and share a beer with the crew near the corner of Speedway and Campbell Avenue.

Although 1702 opened in 2007, it wasn’t until 2011 that they began brewing and selling their own beers, naming their brewery The Address Brewing.

1702 is located at 1702 E. Speedway Blvd. For more information, visit 1702az.com.
