If you’re an owner of a local food truck, it’s likely you’ve seen Mark Whittaker of Tucson Foodie wandering around, following his nose to your delicious cuisine. Now, and for the first time ever, he’s throwing a party with a handful of his favorite mobile eateries.
From 5 – 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, Tucson Foodie presents Mark’s Food Truck Fiesta at 4004 N. Stone Ave., located in front of Hem & Her Bridal.
“First off, let’s get the name out of the way,” said Whittaker. “It’s Tucson and we have plenty of rallies and roundups so we decided to call it a food truck fiesta. That’s exactly what it is. This is a collection of some of the first food trucks I had the pleasure to write about, and I am honored and excited that they all wanted to be a part of our first food truck fiesta.”
The participating food trucks include Tacos Sabrozon, Samurai Sombrero, Duke’s Delicious Pizza, Banhdicted, Red Captain Coffee, The Sweet Coqui, and Morty’s Backyard.
The event is free (aside from what you purchase from each food truck), restrooms will be on-site, and there will be available parking on the property.
“This is to be the first of many Tucson Foodie food truck fiestas, so stay tuned for other trucks and mobile yum units to join in on the fun,” Whittaker added. “Come out, support local businesses, eat a lot, and above all be a part of a new food truck collective that is going to be a semi-regular culinary happening we can all look forward to.”
