For one night only!

On Wednesday, August 21, Tough Luck Club is hosting the Phoenix-based burger sensation Bad Jimmy’s for a pop-up backyard barbecue — all hail smash burgers. They’ll also have wings!

Bad Jimmy’s started as a pop-up in 2021 and has since expanded into a permanent location at 108 E. Pierce St. in downtown Phoenix.

The pop-up has “been a smash hit,” said Karl Goranowski of Tough Luck Club.

“The TLC crew did a bar takeover in June for Bad Jimmy,” he added. “It’s high time for Jimmy to come to the Old Pueblo and show Baja Arizona the finest smoked wings and smash burgers.”

Tough Luck Club and Bad Jimmy’s will have food and cocktail specials from 5 – 9 p.m. — smash burgers, double-stacked smash burgers, fries, wings, and more! Then, the party continues inside Tough Luck Club until close (midnight).

“This is a once-in-a-blue-moon occasion to have some of the coolest food from the Valley of the Sun right here in downtown Tucson,” said Goranowski.

Tough Luck Club is located at 101 E. Pennington St. (just underneath Reilly Craft Pizza). For more information, follow Tough Luck Club on Instagram.

Barbata — the cocktail lounge found in the basement of BATA — is paying tribute to the craft cocktail bar Scott & Co.

Scott & Co. has been closed for a couple of years now due to fire damage so barbata is bringing back some of the bar’s classic cocktails for one night only. They’re calling it barbata & Co. and it’s happening on Sunday, August 17 from 5 p.m. – midnight.

The night will feature 10 throwback drinks that were on Scott & Co. menus from 2010 to 2012. The original bar manager, Ciaran Wiese, and bartender and second bar manager, Karl Goranowski, will be behind the bar mixin’ up the throwbacks.

If you never had the chance to stop by Scott & Co. before the fire, barbata & Co. will be a great history lesson on Tucson’s cocktail scene.

“People who lived it will get a chance to experience a little slice of Scott Ave. — just in new digs,” said Goranowski.

It’s free to join the event so get down there and celebrate Tucson’s craft cocktail history!

Barbata is located at 35 E. Toole Ave. (in the basement of BATA). For more information, follow barbata on Instagram.
