Topacio “Topaz” Servellon (they/them) is an award-winning freelance journalist located in Tucson, and was raised alongside wafts of pupusas, fried plantains and atol de elote.

Often burning toast and overcooking rice, Topaz’s lack of cooking skills was compensated through gaining appreciation for Tucson’s gastronomy, and has often been seen slurping pad thai, devouring quesabirrias, or seeking the next best non-alcoholic cocktail.

In their spare time, Topaz enjoys binging Netflix’s anime catalog, practicing jokes for their next stand-up routine in the mirror, and writing for other publications, such as the Tucson Spotlight.
