Senae Thai’s Dee Buizer was born in Bangkok, Thailand’s metropolis-melting pot of cuisine. She opened her first restaurant Sweet Basil in Berkeley, California thirty years ago. With the help of family, she went on to open several additional restaurants in California, Maryland, and Arizona. If you had the opportunity to taste Chef Dee's food at Senae, you know this dinner isn't to be missed. Chef Dee will be taking over the kitchen at Saffron for this R&D dinner. **Appetizer**: Miang Khum roll - Thai herbal snack consists of Betel leaf filled with minced ginger, minced lime, toasted shredded coconut, and red onions sauced with palm sugar glaze, rolled in rice paper. **Salad:** Som thum - Thai fresh green papaya, purple carrots and long beans tossed with crushed peanuts, garlic and chili in lime-palm sugar dressing. **Soup:** Thom Kha Hed - Coconut milk mushroom spicy-sour soup. **Main Course served family style:** Kao pad Sapparos - Fried rice with pineapple, curry powder, and vegetables. Ped Pikpao - Braised breasts of duck served atop green beans "pik pao" -Thai chili purée & garlic sauce, garnished with fried basil Panang Bison - Bison short ribs stewed in panang curry & coconut milk served in kabucha squash bowl, garnished with tempura eggplant. **Dessert:** Fresh mango served atop forbidden rice seasoned with semi-sweet coconut sauce. ***Vegetarian options are available***

@Tortillaschiwas is currently in its soft opening at 914 N. Grande Ave. in Barrio Hollywood, inside the former Grande Tortilla Factory.

Phoenix restaurateurs Armando Hernandez and chef Nadia Holguin, a James Beard-nominated duo originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, are behind the restaurant.

Tortillas Chiwas is currently open Thursdays through Saturdays from 5–10 pm with 38 seats. Reservations are available on OpenTable.

After 4pm, @Talegacoffee at 177 N. Church Ave. transforms into @_Velvetcowboy, serving cocktails, tapas, and late-night bar energy. Velvet Cowboy’s grand opening is Oct. 16, with upcoming events including drag brunches, DJs, and live music.🪩

This weekend’s hours are Saturday from 2pm to midnight and Sunday from noon to 10pm. Featured in this video is the Chilte(penis) martini special, made with chiltepin vodka, agua de chiltepin, and pickle juice, available until they sell out.🍸

@Tucsondoobie’s infused dinner series returns Sunday, Sept. 20, with chefs @chefmattlove and @chefroselena!🌿

The five-course dinner features playful takes on familiar favorites, including carne asada frites, a Sonoran hot dog-inspired tarte tatin, and a Gansito-inspired chocolate dessert.

The dinner runs from 6–9 pm near downtown Tucson. Tickets include the five-course meal, mocktails, sponsor experiences, a gift bag, and @tucsonprimeleaf product samples.
