Palates of The World: A Culinary Journey to the Philippines

Rincon Mountain Grill at Forty Niner, also known as Forty Niner Country Club, is thrilled to announce the launch of its new "Palates of The World" culinary series, beginning with a vibrant celebration of Filipino cuisine. From August 4th to August 10th, guests are invited to experience "A Culinary Journey to the Philippines," featuring a special 3-course dinner crafted by Executive Chef Jake Bloom.


Chef Jake Bloom's exclusive 3-course Filipino menu, priced at $40.00, promises a delectable journey through traditional flavors. Guests will start with an appetizer of Lumpia 2 Way, followed by the rich and savory Adobo Pork Belly as their entrée. The meal will conclude with a delightful dessert of a Palitaw & Ube Ice Cream Sandwich. For an additional $10.00, guests can enjoy a specially crafted Kagatan cocktail, or a Mangorind Dark & Stormy Mocktail, both designed to perfectly complement the meal.

This special culinary event will be offered alongside the restaurant’s regular menu and will be available nightly from 4 PM to 8 PM Sunday through Wednesday, and 4 PM to 9 PM Thursday through Saturday.

Phoenix restaurateurs Armando Hernandez and chef Nadia Holguin, a James Beard-nominated duo originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, are behind the restaurant.

Tortillas Chiwas is currently open Thursdays through Saturdays from 5–10 pm with 38 seats. Reservations are available on OpenTable.

After 4pm, @Talegacoffee at 177 N. Church Ave. transforms into @_Velvetcowboy, serving cocktails, tapas, and late-night bar energy. Velvet Cowboy’s grand opening is Oct. 16, with upcoming events including drag brunches, DJs, and live music.🪩

This weekend’s hours are Saturday from 2pm to midnight and Sunday from noon to 10pm. Featured in this video is the Chilte(penis) martini special, made with chiltepin vodka, agua de chiltepin, and pickle juice, available until they sell out.🍸

The five-course dinner features playful takes on familiar favorites, including carne asada frites, a Sonoran hot dog-inspired tarte tatin, and a Gansito-inspired chocolate dessert.

The dinner runs from 6–9 pm near downtown Tucson. Tickets include the five-course meal, mocktails, sponsor experiences, a gift bag, and @tucsonprimeleaf product samples.
