After canceling the 2021 event, Ten55 Brewing Company, along with its new partner El Tour de Tucson, are both excited to host the third annual Tucson Gran Fondo on Saturday, March 12.
Plus, after you’ve cycled your way around town, there’s a celebratory after-party happening from 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The 2020 Gran Fondo bike ride
Similar to the first Gran Fondo — or Big Ride — originating in Italy back in 1970 and now hosted worldwide, the Tucson Gran Fondo is for all skill levels. Also, it’s a great event and opportunity for the local community to get together and celebrate the sport of cycling.
So, if you’re interested in joining the ride you’ll enjoy the beautiful scenery of Tucson while rolling along one of three routes:
- The 82-mile “Longo” (starts at 7:30 a.m.)
- The 62-mile “Medio/Metric Century” (starts at 8:30 a.m.)
- The 32-mile “Corto” (starts at 9:30 a.m.)
Tickets are $115 per person and then $135 on the day of.
Gran Fond After-Party
Afterward, friends, family, and the general public are invited to join the riders at the Start/Finish Line, AKA after-party on Scott Avenue, between Congress and Broadway.
The festivities will be happening from 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. and will feature music, games, a wide variety of food and dietary options, and craft beers provided by Ten55 Brewing. If you haven’t had a chance to sip on the El Tour Blood Orange Session IPA, be sure to grab a pint of its juicy deliciousness.
For those riding their bikes, there’s going to be event stands to park bikes, and bring a change of clothes and change inside Ten55’s restrooms, if you’d like.
A portion of the proceeds from the Gran Fondo will benefit Make-A-Wish. There’s a rumor that they may be sending a Wish recipient to the after-party.
