“Seat at the Table” Wine Dinner at The Coronet (MENU)

“Seat at the Table” Wine Dinner at The Coronet (MENU)

Dec 12, 20181 min read

As the year nears its end, The Coronet is squeezing in another “Seat at the Table” dinner from 7 – 10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18.

The five-course dinner will be similar to the prior engagements, featuring a more intimate environment at the restaurant, and includes creations from the mind of chef Moody Elbarasi and wines hand-picked from Sand-Reckoner Vineyards.

All throughout the summer, the reservation-only dinner has made a name for itself, and all of the past “Seat at the Table” dinners have either filled up quickly or sold out rather quickly.

Seats are $85 per person with wine pairings. Make sure to make your reservation beforehand by calling (520) 444-2830.

Dinner Menu

First Course
  • Citrus Herb Stuffed Roasted Chili – with melted swiss raclette, Barrio toast, and a lavender rosemary sorghum drizzle.
  • Paired with 2016 Picpoul Blanc
Second Course
  • Frisée and Radicchio Salad – with asparagus, burnt persimmon, pickled mussel, and sherry vinaigrette
  • Paired with 2016 Malvasia Bianca, 67% Rhumb Line + 33% Sand-Reckoner Vineyards
Third Course
  • The Sated Quail – stuffed with spiced cabbage, grapes, chicken liver, and sourdough with apple mustarda and roast jicama
  • Paired with 2015 X Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Tempranillo
Fourth Course
  • Lamb Chops – tobacco parsnip puree, cranberry and brussel jelly, nutmeg beurre rouge, and greens
  • Paired with 2014 #7 Syrah 85% + Tempranillo 15%
Fifth Course

  • Paired with 2017 Roussanne

The Coronet is located at 402 E. Ninth St. For more “Seat at the Table” dinner series information, including the dinner with The Natural Wine Company, call (520) 444-2830 or visit cafecoronet.com.

More about Matt

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.

He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.

If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.

Swipe to see six itineraries built around Tucson’s core attractions, each paired with nearby restaurants participating in this year’s event. Menus and prices are subject to change, so it’s worth confirming details on the Sonoran Restaurant Week website before heading out.@Sonoranrestaurantweek runs from September 4 through 13, 2026, and it’s the perfect excuse to pair a day of Tucson sightseeing with a prix fixe meal.
