Do you have a surplus of grapefruits, oranges, and lemons you’d like to share?
If you’ve got more citrus than you can handle, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is hosting “Super Citrus Saturday” from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 25.
It’s the perfect opportunity to share the wealth when it comes to citrus you’ve grown on your own or collected. All of the grapefruits, oranges, lemons, and other citrus you donate will be given to children, seniors, and families in need.
The Community Food Bank will have trucks parked at two locations, where employees and volunteers will be waiting to help you unload the goods.
“Super Citrus Saturday” Collection Locations
- 40 N. Swan Rd. (next to Lucky Wishbone, north of Broadway)
- 6303 N. La Cholla Blvd. (Rillito Nursery and Garden Center)
To put the importance of these collection events in perspective, the Community Food Bank retrieved nearly 9,000 pounds of citrus last year.

If you can’t get to one of the “Super Citrus Saturday” locations you can drop off your citrus at other Community Food Bank locations in Tucson, Marana, or Green Valley.
