On Wednesday, April 12, Sherry and Todd Martin of Tucson Tamale announced their decision to close its location at 7159 E. Tanque Verde Rd.
“We would like to thank you for your continued loyalty and support at our Tanque Verde location of Tucson Tamale,” the Martins shared. “It has been an absolute pleasure doing business on the east side of town for the past 10 years. However, we have decided not to renew our lease at the Tanque Verde location and we will permanently close on April 19, 2023.”
So, beginning on Thursday, April 20, Tucson Tamale will only have its Oracle Road location. However, do not fret! They assure you they’re sticking around in Tucson.
“We appreciate all the love and support from our Tanque Verde customers over the years. You can still visit us at our Northwest location on Ina and Oracle. Here you can continue to enjoy classic Tucson Tamale favorites as well as shop local products, browse the largest hot sauce collection in Tucson and try our fresh Sonoran Heritage Wheat Tortillas.”
Back in 2020, Tucson Tamale opened a retail marketplace at the Oracle Road location, featuring a line-up of more than 100 products. Plus, there’s the ever-expanding “Wall of Heat” for those looking to add some literal spice to their lives.
“If the north side is too far to drive to get your tamale fix, you can always order directly from us and have tamales shipped right to your door,” the Martins shared. “Our tamales are also in 6,000 retail locations nationwide and locally you can find us in Safeway, Albertsons, Sprouts, Fry’s, Whole Foods, Natural Grocers and A.J.’s.”
Again, the last day to stop by the Tanque Verde location is Wednesday, April 19.
