Feed your brain with knowledge over some cocktails.
Hamilton Distillers is hosting the Maize to Menus; 4,000 Years of Harvesting the Desert fundraiser at 6 – 9 p.m. on Friday, November 3.
The event is tailored towards understanding why Tucson became designated as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy within their Creative Cities Network.
“We wanted to set this up like an adult-friendly science fair,” said Dale Riggins, brand manager at Hamilton Distillers. “Everyone participating will have an interactive component to their station.”
Activities include seeing the different components of the distillation process, and pulling out a batch of freshly-malted barley to taste.
Tickets are $40 and includes two drink tickets, light appetizers, and all interactive activities.
A number of local organizations will be on display, illustrating the history of food production in and around Tucson.
Hamilton Distillery is located at 2106 N. Forbes Blvd. Suite 103 . For more information, call (520) 628-9244 or visit hamiltondistillers.com.
