This holiday season, feed your brain with new recipes because it’s hungry for something new, too.

Desert Harvesters is throwing a release party of their newest cookbook at Exo Roast Co. from 7 – 9 p.m. on Friday, December 15.

With over 170 recipes, Eat Mesquite and More: A Cookbook for Sonoran Desert Foods, features wild and indigenous foods, guides for ethical harvesting, and stories about favorite deserts.

Even though it has yet to be released, the cookbook has been selected as one of the 2017 Southwest Books of the Year.

You can purchase the book for $34.95 at the release party, or pick up your pre-ordered copy to avoid shipping fees.

One hundred percent of book sales go to continuing the good work of Desert Harvesters, and a portion of food and drink sales will go to a local non-profit organization.

The party will feature delicious cocktails with native plant ingredients such as mesquite syrup, creosote bitters, and manzanita fruit, chiltepin cold brew coffee, regionally-inspired dishes, and live music by The Infinite Mercies.

Exo Roast Co. is located at 403 N. 6th Ave. For more information, visit Desert Harvesters’ Facebook Event Page.
