Feast your eyes on a documentary film that highlights Tucson’s food community.
The Loft Cinema is holding a free film screening and panel discussion for the documentary Taste Bud Memories from 10 a.m. – noon on Sunday, May 6.
The film, directed by Özlem Ayse Özgür, is meant to promote an understanding of refugees’ experiences by connecting food resources, and local geography.
Additionally, the film shows the viewer a broader discourse about food through individual stories, exploring the experience of refugees living in Tucson.
Since this is a free event and screening, you’ll want to get to The Loft Cinema a bit early to ensure a spot in the theater.
Taste Bud Memories is supported by the Southwest Folklife Alliance Inc. & Iskashitaa Refugee Network and was made possible by a grant from Arizona Humanities.
The Loft Cinema is located at 3233 E. Speedway Blvd. For more information, visit loftcinema.org.
