Once the wheels came off, the rest was history for the barbecue spot.

The grills are fired up at Red Desert BBQ as it celebrates its first year as a brick and mortar restaurant from 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 3.

Owner and pitmaster of Red Desert BBQ, David Martin, has at least 20 years of barbecue experience — which began as a backyard hobby. Eating at the now-closed Bobby Dean’s Hickory BBQ food truck inspired him to open his own food truck in 2015.

The restaurant, located on Prince Road, is having food specials throughout the day, drawings for several prizes, gifts every hour, and a grand prize — an Instant Pot — for one lucky winner at the end of the day.

If you’re not there at the end of the day to see if you’ve won, no worries. Red Desert will be live streaming the grand prize drawing on their Facebook page.

Plus, what’s a party without a cake? Make sure to grab a piece of it before you fill up on the barbecue — grilled over both hickory and charcoal.

Red Desert BBQ & Catering is located at 918 W. Prince Rd. For more information on the one-year anniversary celebration, head to Red Desert’s Facebook event page
