“Soul Food Wednesdays” dining series at Hotel Congress

Hotel Congress is bringing “Soul Food Wednesdays” to Cup Cafe, which will be highlighting local black-owned businesses on Wednesday, June 17 – Wednesday, July 8.

For the next few weeks, the historic downtown hotel is inviting some of the tastiest spots in town to set up shop on Wednesday, and then showcase their mouthwatering and flavorful cuisine to the masses. With that, there’s going to be new dishes each week.

Take a look at the following schedule and plan accordingly.

Soul Food Wednesdays Schedule

Black Vibez Catering

Wednesday, June 17

The first businesses to kick off the weekly celebration is Black Vibes Catering, and they’re excited to get things going — satisfying your cravings in the process.

It all starts at 7 p.m. and they’ll also be accompanied by Black Broccoli — a fashionable clothing boutique that sells vintage shirts, caps, and more — and live music from Street Blues Family.

Mr. Cookman’s BBQ Food Truck

Mr. Cookman’s BBQ is setting up shop the following week. Whether they are cooking up some of their delicious New Orleans-style ribs, smoked hot sausage, or chicken, it ought to tickle your fancy.
