Flying Aprons Tucson: Winter Pasta workshop with Chef Riley Chander

January 12, 2022
By Matt Sterner

The thought of making your very own pasta can be a bit overwhelming for some folks, but perhaps you only need a little bit of guidance to get the job done.

Flying Aprons Tucson is hosting an in-person class with Chef Riley Chandler, from 6 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19.

The opportunity is rather unique because you’ll be making the dough Chef Chandler learned from his Grandma Stancato. Preparing the fillings, assembling the ravioli, cutting fettuccine, and preparing two seasonal sauces — perfect for each pasta — are the skills you’ll walk away with.

Tickets are $75 per person and the class is limited to just 20 culinary enthusiasts. You’ll be paired in groups of three to four in order to prepare the dishes.

Winter Pasts Workshop Menu

  • Winter Vegetable and Cheese Ravioli
  • Fettuccine alla Carbonara

Chef Chandler — knowledgeable and skilled with traditional techniques and methods — has created his own path that has allowed him the freedom to explore all things culinary his own way. For example, as of late, his journey has led him to Stancato’s Italiano Sonoran, a delivery-focused restaurant operating out of a “ghost-kitchen.”

The in-person workshop will be held in the kitchen at the Catalina United Methodist Church at 2700 E. Speedway Blvd.
