As the seasons evolve, we witness transformations not only in our hairstyles and fashion preferences but also in our culinary cravings. Every so often, perhaps daily, our food cravings and desires morph into something different than they were the day before.
Luckily, our local dining establishments are attuned to these fluctuations, adjusting their menus to align with the ever-changing rumblings of our stomachs. Take, for instance, Flora’s Market Run, a charming eatery nestled near the intersection of Sixth Street and Tucson Boulevard.
Beginning Saturday, June 3, they’re unveiling a fresh summer menu and Happy Hour. The new menu features the likes of a poke bowl, a new curry dish, a beautiful omelet, mini meatballs, and a slew of summer-themed cocktails.
Polpettini Campanelle – petite meatballs, creamy arrabbiata sauce, basil, parmesan
Summer Pasta – beet-infused pasta, whipped goat cheese mousse, red wine, shallots, garlic, poppy seeds, parmesan
Happy Hour Menu (3 – 6 p.m. Daily)
Happy Hour, which will be up and running every day from 3 – 6 p.m., features new bruschetta boards and extended deals into the market side of the building. That’s right. This means you can get 20% off the juice bar, 10% off prepared foods, and 10% off beer and wine that’s sold in the market.
The beer and wine can then be enjoyed over in the restaurant’s dining room or patio. They’ll also have $2 off cocktails, all beers on tap are $5, and house white and red wine is $6 a glass.
All of the wood-fired pizzas are just $14 each and bruschetta boards are four for $14 or six for $16.50. They’re serving the following bruschetta options: Hummus, Apple, Peppers & Onion, Tomato Mozzarella, Proscuitto, and Strawberry Goat Cheese.
Other Happy Hour Bites
Flora’s “Animal Style” Burger ($14)
Crispy Cauliflower ($12.50)
Petite Meatballs ($7)
Strawberry Salad ($9.50)
Crispy Fish Tacos ($10.50)
Garlic Fries ($7)
Flora’s Market Run is also releasing new summer-themed cocktails to keep you cool during the scorching temperatures. They still have their “Modern Classics” like the Sam Hughes Ol’ Fashion, Paloma, and a Berry Vodka Smash, but take a gander at the “Signature” delights below.
Signature Cocktails
God’s Plan – vodka, lime, simple, cucumber, mint, sparkling wine
Brazilian Lemonade – white rum, Brazilian lemonade, simple, orgeat

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
