Drinking on the Cheap: $5 Pints at Screwbean Brewing

October 4, 2023
By Matt Sterner

It’s likely you’ve read at least one of our Eating on the Cheap articles in the past. There are also plenty of deals in the local beverage world here in Tucson.

Screwbean Brewing, the newest brewery to open its doors in Tucson, which is also a cozy coffee shop, is offering $5 pints of beer throughout the month of October. That’s right — we’re not screwin‘ with you here — everything on draft will be $5 from now until the end of the month.

The taproom at 103 N. Park Ave. has at least a couple of their own beers on tap including the In the Shade hazy IPA, and then also a few other beers on tap from local breweries.

Again, this is only during the month of October 2023.

Screwbean Brewing was named after the Screwbean Mesquite, which produces groovy corkscrew-shaped seed pods rather than the elongated pods of less visionary mesquite varieties.

The home of Screwbean Brewing Company is a nearly-100-year-old building situated a few blocks south of the University of Arizona campus on Park Avenue. The space was originally a Chinese market in the 1930s, then housed an electrical supply wholesaler, then became the original offices of Tucson Foodie, and most recently was the storefront for Good Eye Living home decor.
