The Delta is Permanently Closing its Doors in Downtown Tucson

November 3, 2023
By Matt Sterner

On Friday, November 3, the team behind The Delta at 135 S. Sixth Ave. announced that the restaurant is permanently closing its doors. The very last day to stop by for a Louisiana-style dish and crafty cocktail is Saturday, November 11.

The following was shared on social media:

“It has truly been our privilege and pleasure to serve such a supportive community of neighbors, friends, and guests. We have had such a blast being a part of downtown’s phenomenal culinary scene.”

The Delta had its Grand Opening back in January of 2022 — the first restaurant to move into the former DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails. The owners of The Delta, Steve Dunn, Bryce Zeagler, and Chef Travis Peters, also run The Parish on 6453 N. Oracle Rd. Having Southern-style cuisine in downtown Tucson was a treat to many (including myself), and shutting down the restaurant wasn’t an easy resolution to make.

“The difficult decision to close our doors was not made lightly but will ultimately be what’s best for us moving forward. We will continue to celebrate our roots at The Parish by consistently providing Tucson with our unique brand of genuine Southern hospitality. We would love to see you all before our doors close, so come celebrate the end of an era with us before November 11.”

The Delta will be located at 135 S. Sixth Ave. For more information, visit thedeltatucson.com. The Parish is located at 6453 N. Oracle Rd. For more information, visit theparishtucson.com.
