January 30, 2024
By Matt Sterner

"Our one and only."

Bruce Gerowitz, the owner of Brucedog — a popular hot dog stand that’s been around since 1989 — has passed away. On social media, the following message was shared by friends and family members of Bruce:

“We are very sorry to announce that our one and only Bruce passed away on January 28. We have strong indications to believe that he passed in his sleep peacefully. We are trying to figure out his service’s details. We will announce on Bruce’s Facebook page or the social media platforms of the Brucedog restaurant, as soon as we find out.”

Additionally, Bruce’s friends and family are working on a photo/video collage.

If you’d like to share any photos or videos with the family, they asked if you could do so by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30. You can simply send anything to them via social media.

From Hot Dog Cart to Brick-and-Mortar

With the slogan “Giving ’em the Weenie Since 1989,” Brucedog opened a brick-and-mortar location in October 2023 at 5975 W. Western Way Circle #109, serving Vienna all-beef hot dogs, corn dogs, and Bruce-Style Nachos. Bruce was there during the Grand Opening to cut the ribbon and celebrate with friends.

The hot dog cart has also once been spotted out and about lately around Tucson.

Meanwhile, keep the family in your thoughts and share any photos you may have of Bruce.

Brucedog is located at 5975 W, Western Way Circle # 110. For more information, follow Brucedog on Facebook and Instagram.
