Sneak Peek of the Wonky Food at the Pima County Fair (PHOTOS)

"The sights, the carnival ride frights, and the bites."

Deep fry it, cover it in Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, and call it fair food. Pizza? Throw some Hot Cheetos on it. Chicken Sandwich? Toss some Hot Cheetos on that, too. That’s one of the returning themes at this year’s fair.

The annual Pima County Fair is back and happening out on South Houghton Road from Thursday, April 18 – Sunday, April 28.

So, when you’re not getting dazed by one of the dizzying fair rides, take a bite out of some of these festive meals that oughta keep your energy goin’ at 11300 S. Houghton Rd.

Prepare for a journey through the following list of deep-fried delights, meat wrapped around other pieces of meat, and wonky meals that’ll tickle your tummy

From West Coast Weenies to Piggly’s Barbecue, there’s something that’ll rock your belly this way and that (maybe let it settle a bit before hopping on a ride).

Pima County Fair Food

Hot Cheeto Cheese & Pickle Pizza

New York-style pizza with a white dill ranch pizza sauce, topped with mozzarella, dill pickles, and crunchy Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

Pickle Split

Jumbo sour dill pickle that’s been split down the middle in a banana split boat filled with three swirls of pineapple soft-serve drizzled with sour chamoy and lime Tajín. Oh, it’s also topped off with gummy spaghetti.

Biggy’s Nashville Hot Chicken

Crispy tater tots tossed around with garlic sauce that’s been topped with Nashville Hot Chicken and dill pickles.

Flamin’ Hot Cheeto-dusted Corn Dog

Extra-long corn dog that’s dipped in nacho cheese and dusted with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

Fish & Chips

Hey, this one’s a value meal at the fair. The Lobster Shack will be offering Fish & Chips with a beverage for $9.99.

The perfect dessert to end a day that’s been fueled by Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

This is just a sneak peek of what’s coming to the menus at the Pima County Fair. It’s likely a lot of the favorites from last year are returning — perhaps the Cotton Candy Taco.

The Pima County Fair is open at 3 p.m. Monday – Friday, 11 a.m. Saturday – Sunday, with different closing times between 10:30 and 11 p.m. (depending on what’s happening that day). Have fun out there!
