It’s that time of year again!
When Oktoberfest rolls around each year in Tucson, it brings a wave of Bavarian-inspired festivities celebrating beer, food, and German culture. It’s that particular time of year when I wish I owned a pair of Lederhosen.
Button Brew House, located at 6800 N. Camino Martin #160 in Marana, brings one of the biggest Oktoberfest events of the year and it’s right around the corner!
From noon – 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, the taproom is hosting its annual celebration with nearly 10 other breweries in partnership with Tucson Foodie, Aztec Embroidery & Screenprinting, Baja Cafe, and Medicare Mike.
There’s going to be lots of beer. There’s going to be food from Haus of Brats. There’s going to be a good amount of pretzels. There’s even going to be live tattooing. Local tattoo artist Justin from Art & Sol Tattoo will be giving out beer-themed tattoos for just $50 each (don’t forget to tip).
Also, they’re hosting a German Costume Contest (awards for Best Male and Best Female) as well as a Stein Holding Contest!
A few local breweries including Buttons’s neighbors, Catalina Brewing, will be setting up in the parking lot. Ballpark Brewing from Bisbee is driving down to serve some suds, as well as Craft Ohana out of California (it’s a new collaboration between Maui Brewing Company and Modern Times Beer).
There’s a lot happening this year so purchase your tickets soon! There’s only a certain amount of tickets sold each year and they sometimes sell faster than you can say Ein Prosit der GemĂĽtlichkeit.
Also, new this year: VIP Ticket holders get three months of our Tucson Foodie Insiders membership!
Just this month, Button Brew House celebrated its seventh anniversary!
“We are grateful to many of you for this milestone,” the Buttons shared.
Erika and Todd Button, owners of Button Brew House, met in 2001 while working at a printing company in California. Despite Todd being Erika’s boss, they became close friends, staying in touch over the years as “Christmas card friends.” Their connection deepened in 2009, eventually leading to romance and their shared passion for brewing.
In 2017, they opened Button Brew House in Marana, combining their love for each other, craft beer, and the local community, while also making a point to support non-profits and local artists.
Button Brew House is located at 6800 N. Camino Martin #160. For more information, and to purchase tickets, visit eventbrite.com.
