The Thai street food Pranom Pop-Up, operated by Chef Dream Kasestatad, is making a pit stop at Tap & Bottle (403 N. Sixth Ave. #135) from 5 – 9 p.m. (or until they’re sold out) on Wednesday, November 13.
Chef Kasestatad comes from four generations of family-owned Thai restaurants — he was “literally bathed as a baby in his family’s restaurant.” He began the concept in his apartment by cooking Pad Thai, and then making bicycle deliveries to his friends, neighborhood bars, and small businesses all over Los Angeles.
One night while cooking at one of his pop-ups, he was discovered in a parking lot in Los Angeles by a senior food editor for Eater and LA Weekly magazine. His story was placed on the cover of the LA Weekly food section and word quickly spread.
Dream doesn’t have any plans to open a traditional brick-and-mortar restaurant and prefers to have the freedom to cook wherever he chooses.
So, next stop: Tap & Bottle at 403 N. Sixth Ave. #135 from 5 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13.
You don’t need to buy tickets for the event, but get there early because the food tends to sell out quickly! Also, the menu changes from time to time so you’ll just have to wait until the day of the event to see what Chef Kasestatad is cookin’ up.
