Monday Munchies: Breakfast Sandwiches at Ren Coffeehouse

Monday Munchies is supported by Botanica.

For many, the best part of wakin’ up is some coffee in a cup, but you also need to fill your belly with something nutritional. An empty stomach can have all sorts of negative effects — road rage, embarrassing tummy grumbles in quiet waiting rooms, etc.

Over at Ren Coffeehouse, there are a few to choose from every day of the week.

My favorite breakfast sandwich at the coffee shop is the Sausage Deluxe — a croissant sandwich that comes with a sausage patty, spicy housemade jelly, herb cream cheese, an egg, and onions.

Give the Bagel Breakfast Sandwich a try — a bagel loaded with avocado, arugula, tomato, and eggs from Cruz Farm. It’s a mighty meal, a healer of the munchies.

Also, it’s easy to eat! For me, bagel sandwiches often end up in a mess — almost as if the bagel is a tissue and the insides are blown out with each bite. This wasn’t the case with the sandwich at Ren, who gets its fresh bagels from Bubbe’s Fine Bagels.

Then there is the Southwest Breakfast Sandwich.

It comes served on focaccia that’s been lightly toasted and then scrambled eggs, Pepper Jack cheese, green chili salsa, avocado, and bacon (optional) are sandwiched in between.

These are just a few breakfast options at Ren. They usually have something new to try, too, on their “specials” menu.

The shop is open daily from 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. (sometimes until 2 p.m., depending on the season).

Ren Coffeehouse is located at 4300 N. Campbell Ave. #24, at the St. Philip’s Plaza. For more information, visit rencoffeehouse.com and follow Ren Coffeehouse on Instagram.
