There’s a “big taco party” coming to Tucson.
On Saturday, April 26, Rillito Park will become a taco, tequila, and music lover’s paradise during Taco Fest.
Activated Events — the creators of the traveling Boots In The Park experience — are trading in their cowboy boots for hip-hop, tacos, nachos, margaritas, ice-cold beers, micheladas, and more than 100 tequilas.
A big stage will be set up at Rillito Park for hip-hop throwback party featuring T.I., Lil Jon, Fat Joe, Chingy, Trick Daddy, Paul Wall, Yung Joc, Bubba Sparxxx, and DJ Luwiss Lux.Â
Additionally, lucha libre wrestling will hit a smaller stage near the middle of the grounds, and several of the “sleekest lowriders” in Arizona will be on display.
Stay tuned for the taco menu and tequila vendors.
In the meantime, preorder tickets are $39 and on sale Friday, January 24. You need to sign up ahead of time in order to snag that particular price. Your ticket gets you into the event with all other purchases (tacos, tequila, etc.) optional.
Tucson is the first stop on the tour — Taco Fest arrives in Norco, California in May and Albuquerque, New Mexico in June.
For more than 15 years, Activated Events has been putting on large-scale music festivals throughout the Southwest — with a heavy focus on Country music. Past Taco Fest performers included Ice Cube and Flo Rida.
If you can, sign up for preorder tickets and stay tuned for more details on menus.
Taco Fest is happening at Rillito Park, 4570 N. First Ave. For more information and to buy tickets, visit mytacoparty.com.
