There’s a lot happening on Main Gate Square — a spot where you can get a caffeine jolt, local brews, crafty cocktails, and hearty meals to keep one foot in front of the other.
Since the late ’90s, No Anchovies at 870 E. University Blvd. has been a go-to spot for pizza-by-the-slice and fun vibes. It’s a hit with students and locals, and it isn’t hard to see why — good pizza, good prices, and it’s open late (until 2 a.m. on certain nights).
Over the years, renovations were made: ownership added a second story with a bar, state-of-the-art sound system, games, patio, etc. The menu has changed along the way, too, and continues to add new slices. For example, there’s a chicken and waffle pizza, for example.
However, you’ll still find classics on the menu like the Pepperoni Deluxe — a 16-inch whopper topped with mozzarella, pepperoni, pepperoni cups, ricotta cheese, and more pepperoni. The Hot Wing pizza is what it sounds like: Buffalo chicken, ranch dressing, grated blue cheese, and mozzarella.
If you’re craving hot wings minus the pizza dough, No Anchovies has you covered (bone-in and boneless) with sauces like Cajun, garlic parmesan, honey hot, sweet chili, and more.
Also, bring your dancing shoes in the evenings (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) No Anchovies, which was once a former ballerina studio, turns into a nightclub. You can even reserve a VIP table.
