The Community Gardens of Tucson is hosting its fun and educational Pollinator Festival on Sunday, April 6, from 3 – 5 p.m. This event is free to attend and will be held at the New Spirit Garden located at 8701 E. Old Spanish Trail.

This year’s Pollinator Festival aims to raise awareness about pollinator health and the importance of these creatures in supporting biodiversity, food production, and our environment.

There’s a lot going on at the Pollinator Festival — food trucks, live music, local vendors, a farmers market, and interactive demonstrations from regional experts. If you’re feeling lucky and want to support the Community Gardens, they’ll be raffling off local goods, activities, experiences, gift baskets, and local dining deals.

All in all, it’s a celebration of the essential role that pollinators play in our ecosystem.

So, all of that learning and supporting local pollinators ought to work up an appetite, too. Here’s a list of food vendors setting up from 3 -5 p.m. on Sunday, April 6.

Participating Food & Beverage Vendors

• You Sly Dog – hot dogs with a variety of tasty toppings
• Mafia Kitchen – yummy cannoli and refreshing Italian sodas
• Del Cielo Tamal– fresh and flavorful Mexican cuisine
• Banhdicted – Vietnamese Bahn Mi sandwiches
• Churro Inzunza – sweet, cinnamon-covered churros
• Crooked Tooth Brewing – locally crafted, pollinator-friendly beers

More About Community Gardens of Tucson

Community Gardens of Tucson is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating community through sustainable gardening practices. By creating accessible and inclusive spaces for people to grow food, the organization supports local food systems, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.

New Spirit Garden has 36 in-ground plots, a three-bin compost system, and a pollinator garden planted in partnership with the Audubon Society of Southern Arizona in 2020. Also, the garden has a small orchard planted in partnership with New Spirit Lutheran Church and a communal playground area.
