On Monday, we like to get our munch on, and Midtown Vegan Deli & Market has something super special on the menu.
It’s a loaded breakfast bagel featuring crispy vegan bacon, Beyond Sausage, vegan American cheese, Just Egg, arugula, jalapeños, and a drizzle of maple syrup. It’s called the Death Free Foodie bagel, and it hits all the right notes — even if you’re not vegan.
“It’s especially tasty on an everything bagel,” said Hannah Hernandez, AKA Death Free Foodie, “but you can go with whatever bagel you’re feeling.”
That smoky-sweet maple syrup cuts through the richness, while the jalapeños bring the heat.
Also, if you’re looking for something tasty to pair it up with, check out Midtown Vegan Deli’s loaded fries and tater tots.
Midtown Vegan Deli opened its doors in January 2022, aiming to make vegan cuisine approachable and enjoyable for everyone, including meat-eaters. The deli occupies the historic space that once housed Feig’s Kosher Market & Deli since 1971, paying homage to its roots by offering plant-based versions of traditional deli favorites.
They also serve as a one-stop shop on the corner of Fifth Street and Rosemont Boulevard, featuring a variety of vegan products, grab-and-go options, and a full-service deli with dishes like the Philly, game-changer grilled cheese, and loaded Buffalo chicken fries.
The deli is open 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Midtown Vegan Deli & Market is located at 5071 E. Fifth St. For more information, visit midtownvegandeli.com.
