This summer, Tucson kids can swap screen time for kitchen time at Cuisine Classique’s 2025 Kids’ Cooking Summer Camps.
From Monday, June 2 to Monday, July 28, parents can enroll their kids in hands-on sessions, giving young chefs a chance to suit up in their very own chef’s hat (which they’ll get to decorate and keep). They’ll also build a recipe book throughout the week, and earn a certificate at the end to show off what they’ve learned.
Each camp session is five days, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. each day, for kids between the ages of 11 and 18 years old.
Themed sessions like “Cooking Around the World” and “U.S. Regional Favorites” make it easy to explore new ingredients and techniques while learning about where food comes from. Plus, a lot of the ingredients are locally grown and organically produced.
Space is limited, so be sure to enroll online ASAP.
Each camp session, which is designed to be interactive, engaging, and fun, will be held at the Cuisine Classique Cooking School, 1060 W. Magee Rd.
“Get ready to unleash your creativity in the kitchen while making new friends who share your passion for cooking. Our Head Chef is Mardi Burden. Laurel is our Lead instructor. Laurel teaches elementary school in Tucson. Mardi loves to cook, and she brings her personality and professional expertise from restaurant kitchens (and 23 years of teaching) to the lessons she teaches in her classes.
It’s a camp where kids get to chop, stir, flip, and mix their way through the week, building confidence and learning real-life skills in a safe, supervised environment. If your kid’s been hovering near the stove or asking questions about what’s for dinner, this might be the move!
