Arizona Lotus Radio and Patio Pools and Spas are joining forces to present Tucson’s Largest Cereal Bowl on Friday, June 16 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Radio listeners can drop off unopened boxes of cereal, oats, and peanut butter, with the goal of filling their massive “cereal bowl.”

In other words, their challenge is to fill an entire above-ground swimming pool with 3,500 pounds of donated food.

The cereal drive is designed to alleviate hunger during a difficult time of year when the kids are out of school, and the electric bills are rising. Children who rely on free school meals throughout the school year often go without when school is out.

The 12-hour event drive will benefit the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, and will be broadcast live at the by the following radio stations:

If you can’t make it out to the event, you can easily make your donations online.

Patio Pools and Spas is located on 7960 E. 22nd St. For more information, call (520) 622-0525 or visit communityfoodbank.org.
