If you’re looking for something new to do on Mondays, Proper Chef Kris Vrolijk has come up with a new idea for fall dinner. The first Monday of every month, Vrolijk will be creating a 3-course meal exclusively with local farmers market finds from the weekend before.
Each month will feature a brand new menu featuring the freshest seasonal ingredients of Vrolijk’s choosing. The dinners are designed to reconnect people to their food and community and seek answers about where their food comes from.
“Our culture has started to shy away from long, leisurely meals shared with friends and neighbors, and what used to be considered an integral component of our communities has since been overshadowed by cost and convenience,” Vrolijk said. “Through Monday Market Dinners, we’re looking to restore this sense of community, as well as help establish a connection among the diner, the community and the environment where the ingredients came from.”
To further promote the use of locally-sourced products, ten percent of all proceeds from the Monday Market Dinners will go toward the Arizona-based Farm Education Research Network (FERN).
The ever-changing 3-course dining experience is $35 per guests, with beverages available for an additional cost. The first dinner is tonight, November 3rd, at 7 p.m.
