Whiskey Del Bac’s Pedro Ximénez Sherry finished American single malt returns this Saturday, February 15th.

The distillery will host the official 2025 Frontera release party from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th.

Parkie Sandwiches will provide food, and Mariachi Luz de Luna will play live music from 3:45 to 4:45 PM.

Guests can enjoy cocktails, samples of Batch 4 of Frontera, and other Whiskey Del Bac offerings.

Only 1,400 bottles of Frontera were produced this year, and they retail for $90 each.

One of Whiskey Del Bac’s most awarded releases, Frontera has earned 93 points from Whisky Advocate magazine and a Platinum and Best of Show Finalist award from the TAG Global Spirits Awards.

This year, the distillery has made a slight change to the recipe. For the past three years, Frontera has consisted of their 100% unsmoked single malt, finished for over a year in a mix of PX sherry butts. Batch 4 includes a light touch of smoke in the blend.

“We’re constantly looking at ways to elevate our whiskeys,” said Master Distiller & Blender Mark A. Vierthaler. “Whiskey Del Bac was born from a profound love of the Sonoran Desert, and the distinctive notes of mesquite smoke embody the desert’s allure.”

Vierthaler assures that the smoke is subtle. “The smoke adds a beautiful complexity, but is so gentle even those most sensitive to smoke will be able to enjoy it,” he said.

Bottles will go on sale Saturday morning at 8:00 AM and can also be picked up in person during the release party.
