Zio Peppe, Tucson’s Italian/Sonoran fusion restaurant helmed by Devon Sanner and Mat Cable, is thrilled to announce their collaboration with La Spinetta winery for a five course paired wine dinner. For one night only, Tuesday May 21st at 6 pm, Zio Peppe will offer five courses of inspired cuisine paired with wines from La Spinetta’s vineyards in Piemonte and Toscana and Castelli di Jesi in the Marche region. Fabio Longano, a certified sommelier representing La Spinetta, will be coming from Italy to speak about the outstanding wines. Tickets for this evening of sensory delights are available through Zio Peppe’s OpenTable for $125 per person plus tax and gratuity.
La Spinetta’s story began in the 1960’s with Giuseppe Rivetti and his wife Lidia, growing Moscato grapes in Piemonte. In the late 1970’s, Giuseppe and Lidia’s children came into their own in the family business and produced some of the first single-cru Moscato wines in Italy. With the success of their Moscato business, the family branched out to focus on red grapes, planting Barbera and Nebbiolo to produce what have become critically acclaimed Barveras, Barbarescos, and Barolos. In 2001, La Spinetta turned their focus to Tuscany with the creation of a new winery, Casanova della Spinetta. Zio Peppe is proud to feature 5 exceptional wines across the La Spinetta portfolio at the dinner on May 21st.
The menu for the dinner will cleave to Zio Peppe’s imaginative and playful sensibilities, taking inspiration from tradition and seasonality, and providing elements of surprise and cheeky twists along the way.
