Meet the African American Museum of Southern Arizona

March 25 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

This is the new date for this event!

The organizers are thrilled to be partnering with the African American Museum of Southern Arizona to highlight the Museum’s mission to gather and share stories, images, and artifacts while documenting, digitizing, and preserving African American and Black life, culture, and history in Southern Arizona for the benefit of the community.

The presentation will be led by the Museum’s Director, Nikieia Johnson, and will explore various aspects of the African American population in Southern Arizona over the years. The lecture and presentation will conclude with an immersive activity led by Museum staff. All ages are welcome to attend; however, guests under 21 must be accompanied by an adult.

Guests are encouraged to purchase a delicious dessert treat from Daunyel Clayton, owner of Sweets, Cakes, and Treats. She will be on-site sharing her homemade sweets to enjoy at the distillery or to take home for friends and family.

Admission is $10.00. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to support the Museum’s mission and service to the community.

The organizers look forward to bringing the Southern Arizona community together through storytelling and history. All are invited to attend.
