Outlander Cooking Class

Scheduled during the weekend of the Tucson Festival of Books, this hands-on cooking class menu is based upon upon food and recipes referenced in the hugely popular, Outlander, a historical romance time-travel book series, written by Diana Gabaldon. The series was adapted for TV for a 9-season series about British nurse Claire Randall who time travels from the 20th-century to 17th-century Scotland. There she finds love and adventure with the dashing Jamie Fraser, a Highland warrior.

Cooking Class Menu:

  • Cocktail: Outlander – a drink with Scotch blend whiskey, elderflower, bitters, and fresh squeezed lemon (hands-on mixology for students 21+ years)
  • Entree: Steak and Mushroom filled Yorkshire Pudding, (hands-on student cooking)
  • Side: Colcannon – a dish made of mashed potato and cabbage (hands-on student cooking)
  • Dessert: Apple Pandowdy (hands-on student cooking)

Students 21+ years are welcome to bring their own wine, champagne, beer, etc. to enjoy during class.
