"The whole thing was pretty crazy," Krueger said. "We never would have expected to be robbed at gunpoint."

Reforma Modern Mexican. Mezcal + Tequila was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night according to owner Grant Krueger.

“The whole thing was pretty crazy,” Krueger said. “We never would have expected to be robbed at gunpoint.”

At about 10:20 p.m. on Sunday night, a man in a hoodie, sunglasses, white sneakers, and a bandana entered the back door of Reforma with a gun, Krueger said.

Afterward, the man herded four staff members, then used a stun gun on the general manager’s neck to force him to open the safe. Next, the man stole the change money and server tip money before escaping through the back door.

“I think all the guys are stressed out over this situation,” Krueger said. “It’s kind of a traumatic situation.”

The assailant is still at large, but police are searching based on a couple of leads, Krueger said. Anyone with additional information on the crime is encouraged to contact local police.

“It’s a relatively quiet neighborhood,” Krueger said. “I’m glad that nobody was seriously injured in the situation.”

Reforma Modern Mexican. Mezcal + Tequila is located at 4340 N. Campbell Ave. Ste. 101. For more information, visit reformatucson.com.
