Give back on “Giving Foodsday” with the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona

After Black Friday & Cyber Monday comes the more important holiday.

Giving thanks and giving back go hand-in-hand during the holiday season.

This year, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is matching donations on Giving Tuesday, which is Tuesday, December 3.

Turning Giving Tuesday into Giving Foods-day, the Community Food Bank will be matching your donation to the first $20,000 that’s collected. One of the perks of donating is the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. If you’re eligible you can get a $400 tax credit or $800 tax credit if you’re part of a married couple who’s filing jointly.

Being that Arizona has the fifth-highest rate of childhood hunger in the country, giving back and donating to the cause is important every year.

Last year the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona distributed 42 million pounds of fresh produce throughout Southern Arizona. Some of that even went to other parts of the country.

Donating is pretty easy, too. All you’ve got to do is donate on their website. It’s a small step that can make a huge difference!

The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is located at 3003 S. Country Club Rd. For more information, visit communityfoodbank.org.
