Jonathan’s Cork is teaming up with the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona for a holiday food drive from Thursday, December 3 – Tuesday, December 22.
“With the ever-increasing rise in COVID-19 in our community, more and more are relying on help to feed their families,” said Jonathan Landeen, owner of Jonathan’s Cork. “With so many resources stretched to the max, we have opened our doors as a safe drop-off point on the east side.”
If you’d like to donate, items can be dropped off at the restaurant from 3 – 9 p.m. on Monday – Thursday and 3 – 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Oh, but there’s an added bonus for donating, too.
They’ll be offering special pricing on cocktails for those who take the time to bring a food donation throughout the campaign.
“One day when it was too cold to ride, me and my group of cowgirls were sitting around talking about the stress so many families are under in our community,” said Jonathan’s Cork’s restaurant manager, Rovella Ruscitti. “We decided that something needed to be done and the idea quickly took shape.”
Additionally, no glass containers or pre-opened items will be accepted, and envelopes for cash donations will be available, which can be sent directly to the Community Food Bank.
Jonathan’s Cork is located at 6320 E. Tanque Verde Rd. For more information, visit jonathanscork.com.
