Forbes Meat Company unveils its new weekly sandwich program

Someone once said that life is better between two slices of bread. Others have claimed that you can make any meal into a sandwich, and any sandwich into a meal. However, no matter what’s been said, or what has spent a decent amount of time in the middle of a couple of pieces of bread, the sandwich tends to be a beloved handheld meal that’s wholesome enough to make most people smile.

Here in Tucson, there’s a new option for those looking for something to eat for lunch or even dinner. The local butcher shop, Forbes Meat Company, recently announced a new weekly sandwich program happening on Thursdays.

Forbes Meat Company kicked off this program in anticipation and preparation of its new shop that is planning to open sometime this year in the new Baffert at Five Points building.

Here’s how it works:
  • Forbes will be offering rotating sandwiches every week for pickup only on Thursday
  • Ingredients will change weekly
  • All will (likely) feature a meat product
  • Sandwiches are estimated to be around $10 each

This week’s delicious grab is the Porchetta Sandwich on a ciabatta roll with roasted red peppers, pesto mayo, and arugula. To preorder a sandwich, you’ll need to call (520) 474-2714 on Wednesday to get it into the system on time.

“It’s an exploration of flavors from across the globe in sandwich form,” said chef Nick Creamer of Forbes Meat Company.

If you’ve never stopped by or purchased anything from Forbes, the meat shop specializes in whole animal butchery, including sausages, steaks, fish, poultry, and more. The hours of operation are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and closed on Sunday and Monday.

Forbes Meat Company is located at 220 E. Broadway Blvd. For more information, call (520) 474-2714 or visit forbesmeatcompany.com.
