Back in December 2021, the future for the restaurant and market on Anita Avenue wasn’t very clear. There were talks of closing its doors permanently, which was a difficult statement for owner Gracie Soto to make publicly.
However, things are turning around for Anita’s Street Market after a temporary closure. The restaurant announced that it’s hosting a 38th-anniversary celebration and Grand Reopening at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 25.
Once they’re back in business during the Grand Reopening they’ll be serving up daily specials and freshly made tortillas — something many Tucsonans have missed as of late.
In December of 2020, the original owner and grandmother of Gracie, Grace Soto, passed away and the community displayed an outpour of love for the family and the shop near Dunbar Spring. Anita’s Street Market can expect the same support during its reopening on Friday, March 25.
