Things are getting wonky at the restaurant

The season finale of the Stranger Things series is coming in faster than you can remember your best friend’s Netflix password. With each and every viewing, fans of the show know the show’s a mystery that gets even more mysterious as the minutes on zip by.

However, whether you’ve watched any of the episodes or not, there’s something very peculiar coming to the Eegee’s menu. Beginning on Friday, July 1 until Friday, July 8, the local fast-food joint, which is mostly known for its slushy drinks, is releasing an “Upside Down” Eegee.

The limited-time flavor is the popular watermelon beverage that’s been dyed black with some red edible glitter on top. According to the crew, the new drink is “an Eleven on a scale of one to ten.” You know, because Eleven is the name of one of the wonky characters in Stranger Things.

Therefore, if you’re in the mood to take your taste buds on a trip to the Upside Down, you’ll get a special edition Stranger Things-inspired sticker, too. The Eegee and the accompanying sticker will be available at all locations (not available through online ordering), while supplies last.

In other news…

Just last month, Tucsonans were surprised to hear that Eegee’s, for the first time, will be planning to expand outside of the state.

The restaurant, which has been quickly expanding its restaurant brand over the years, announced that the industry veteran Jason Vaughn has been appointed as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Vaughn will succeed Ron Petty, who served as the restaurant’s chairman for a decade before becoming CEO in 2019.
