The Tucson International Mariachi Conference (TIMC) is pleased to present The Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food on Sunday, October 22 from 3 – 7 p.m. at the MSA Annex, 267 S Avenida del Convento.
Now in its second year, the event showcases Tucson’s top Mexican Food eateries and award-winning Mariachi, Latino, and Folklorico performing artists. Proceeds from the event will be used to support youth educational opportunities available at the conference at the TIMC.
“We are pleased to offer scholarships and financial assistance to students who cannot afford the admission fees,” said Jose Jimenez, TIMC Board Member. “We take every opportunity to make their experience meaningful and affordable. At the conference, students are encouraged to explore, learn, and engage in the mariachi and Folklorico events in the hopes that this experience will help them reach their goals.”
The cost per person to attend the event is $65 and includes two drink tickets and 15 tastings from participating food vendors. Expect to see a variety of Mexican specialties including tacos, sopes, moles, elote, and more.
Entertainment will feature performances by local artists, including Mariachi Nuevo Azteca, Mariachi Aztlan de Pueblo High School, Ballet Folklorico Los Guerreros de Pueblo High School, all three winners of the TIMC’s “El Mariachi Canta” competition, and Zona Libre, an eclectic group of musicians with a flair for arrangements of contemporary Latino Urbano music.
The 23 Miles of Best Mexican Food Festival will be located at the MSA Annex, 267 S. Avenida del Convento. For more information and to purchase your tickets, visit tucsonmariachi.org.
