From 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, October 20, the Sand-Reckoner Tasting Room is hosting “A Bubbly Night to Remember” with winemaker Rob Hammelman.
They’re inviting folks out to join them as they welcome the new sparkling Pet-Nat back into the lineup — it’s 100% Malvasia Bianca from Rhumb Line Vineyard. The event is set to be an intimate evening with Hammelman where you can pick his brain on all things bubbly and snack on potato chips, caviar, creme fraiche, charcuterie, and olives (and wine, of course).
If you’re interested in attending the event at 510 N. Seventh Ave. #170., you’ll want to buy tickets soon, which are $80 per person. Space is limited at this tasting room event so get ’em before they sell out.
Hammelman embarked on his wine journey in 2000, taking a break from teaching Humanities and Sciences in Arizona to work at Callaghan Vineyards. The experience of immersing himself in Arizona’s vineyards revealed the magical connection between the aromas and textures of the local wines and the vineyards themselves, sparking a deep passion for winemaking.
Pursuing his passion, he obtained a graduate diploma in Oenology from the University of Adelaide in Australia, where he developed a love for Rhone varieties. Working at Hewitson and with the historic Old Garden Mourvèdre vineyard planted in 1853, he honed his skills.
Rob later became the winemaker at Two Rivers Winery in Colorado, where he crafted wines from some of the highest-altitude vineyards in the U.S.
If you’ve got prior engagements to attend, Sand-Reckoner will be releasing the Pet-Nat to the public from 2 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 21.
The Sand-Reckoner Vineyards tasting room is at 510 N. Seventh Ave. #170. For more information, visit sand-reckoner.com.
