"Part Tiki Bar. Part Tiki Movie. All Tiki Groovy."

First, owners Doug “Fini” Finical and Scott Mencke opened Fini’s Landing in the foothills, then came The Landing in Oro Valley in 2021, and now they are finally ready to give you a big “aloha” inside their new tiki bar.

Cabali, located next door to The Landing at 8195 N. Oracle Rd., is hosting its Grand Opening on Friday, February 2 at 3 p.m. The official hours of operation have yet to be unveiled but for the first day, show up right at 3 p.m. or soon after for some seriously cool tiki perks.

First, at 4 p.m., there’s going to be a limited-edition mug release and signings with artists John Mulder and Doug Horne.

Secondly, they’re going to be filming for the soon-to-be-released documentary “Cabali and the Tiki Mug Obsession.” The film has been in the works for a little bit now and explores the “history and subculture of tiki mug hunting featuring ‘Fini’ — an obsessed collector opening a tiki bar dedicated to his collection.”

Douglas “Fini” Finical has been collecting tiki mugs for years and they’ll have more than 1,000 of them on display inside the new bar. Cabali will be its own standalone bar but it’ll also share the patio and kitchen with The Landing.

The documentary has also been keeping track of the progress of the new tiki bar, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the construction, the attention to detail in the wood carvings, and more.

To recap, the Grand Opening is Friday, February 2 at 3 p.m., stay tuned for the official hours of operation, and wear something nifty because there’s a chance you’ll be in the documentary, “Cabali and the Tiki Mug Obsession.”
