With a mission of offering a space that allows folks to feel safe and “explore their inner lives deeply,” the team behind Four Walls at 2585 N. First Ave. is excited to officially open its doors to the public.

From 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. on Friday, February 16, the new cafe/fitness center/venue will be hosting its Grand Opening with free coffee. If you’re hungry, the Pacaw’s Wings & Things food truck will be on-site and serving their award-winning chicken wings.

At 8 p.m., Erika Segura’s Duo hits the stage with their “layered vocals, smooth riffs, and impactful lyrics,” and then DJ LaDev shares some tunes at 9 p.m.

Then, on Saturday, February 17, movement classes (you can book a spot in any of the classes ahead of time) and the cafe are open to the public.

The cafe, which is right across the street from the popular breakfast spot Buendia, will feature a full coffee menu, including drip coffee, espresso, cappuccino, lattes, cold brew, iced coffee, and Americanos — all made with local roaster, Yellow Brick Coffee.

“Their mission and values align with ours, and we feel a special kinship with them as we’re both sibling (brother and sister) owned local companies,” said Stephanie Lee of Four Walls. “Our focus will also be providing healthy, responsibly sourced milk and creamer, and our cups and lids are made from recycled, compostable materials.”

In the cafe, they’ll have several seats at the bar, multiple bar tables, multiple regular tables, and plenty of space for live music.

“The coffee shop opens into an intimate live room with a stage that includes a grand piano as our centerpiece,” Lee added. “We’ll have downtempo singer-songwriter shows, community meetups, open mic nights, and DJs.”

Overall, and as mentioned earlier, the mission of Four Walls is to create a welcoming and inclusive community space — a place where everyone’s welcome.

“Our coffee shop helps facilitate our mission of creating a place where people feel safe to explore their inner lives deeply and free to live to their full potential,” said Lee. “It’s the gathering place before and after our fitness, yoga, and meditation classes. It’s the anchor of the live music venue. And it’s a place where people will be able to enjoy superb coffee.”

Recap: The Grand Opening is from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. on Friday, February 16 and the classes and cafe will both be open beginning on Saturday, February 17. Stay tuned for the official hours of operation.
