This Memorial Day Weekend, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is opening a brand-new spot on the corner of Grant and Swan Road.

“I love Jermiah’s Italian Ice and I’ve been a loyal customer for such a long time so I am excited to bring tasty treats to the Tucson area,” said Samip Patel, local owner and operator of Jeremiah’s Italian Ice on Grant Road.

The Italian Ice and Gelati shop will be open on Saturday, May 25 from noon – 10 p.m. at 4676 E. Grant Rd. They’ll be offering free samples, half-priced small and medium items, and prizes.

Oh, but here’s the best part: The first 100 guests to arrive on Saturday will win FREE Gelati for a year. You’ll be rewarded through Jeremiah’s J List Rewards app.

“From our signature Gelati to Soft Ice Cream and Italian ice, we have a lot to offer the frozen treat lovers in the area,” Patel added. “We can’t wait to serve everyone.”

A Corner for Combo Concepts

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice has moved in on the property that once housed a Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins combo. Coincidentally, the new Italian ice shop is going to be a dual-concept as well with the national chain Tropical Smoothie Café.

In fact, this is the first-ever dual-concept involving Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. The developers thought that Tucson was the perfect place to debut the combo.

“Although the idea of dual concepts is not new, it is becoming an increasingly popular way to introduce multiple concepts,” said Jeramy Price of KJE Steampump, the local company tasked with the building’s construction. “Each has decidedly different vibes and complimentary menus. The dual-concept of a Tropical Smoothie Café and Jeremiah Italian Ice seem like a perfect fit in this perfect location.”

Jeremiah’s Beginnings

The Italian Ice and Gelati shop that encourages everyone to “Live Life to the Coolest” has a fun origin story, too.

The founder, Jeremy Litwack, got his start by selling Italian ice in front of the Philadelphia Mint when he was in high school in 1988 — it was called Jeremiah’s Ice Age then. In 1996, he opened his first Jeremiah’s Italian Ice dessert shop in Winter Park, Florida.

He started franchising in 2019 and the new spot on the corner of Grant and Swan Road is the 150th location.

This isn’t the first Tucson location, though. There’s a Jeremiah’s at 7348 N. Oracle Rd. near Oro Valley and another in Marana at 9110 N. Silverbell Rd.

The new Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is located at 4676 E. Grant Rd. and its Grand Opening is on Saturday, May 25. For more information, visit jeremiahsice.com.
